About

The Ballroom Dance Club is a University of Virginia club sport and social dancing group founded in 2001 by Melissa Kahn.

Since its inception, the club has consisted of hundreds of UVA students. It serves both to promote social ballroom dancing on Grounds as well as to provide a means for university students to take part in ballroom competitions. All levels are welcomed at the club. Many club members attend yearly competitions at schools such as the University of Maryland and Duke. The club promotes ballroom in the Charlottesville area by holding social dances, attending USA Dances, and hosting other dancing events.  The club also puts on a semesterly showcase to allow members to perform to the University community.
